ABOUT :
the folk experiment
The Folk Experiment is a space created by chronic daydreamer, curator, maker, dabbler, Felicity Martin, with her enabler and husband Greg Stevens.
I am obsessed with the creative process and am forever inspired by the creativity, wit, innovation, insight, beauty and activism of all artists working across the spectrum we call the creative industries.
Working with and living through artists is where I feel most myself and Talbot is this hamlet that I have been drawn to, to create a nourishing and sustainable life. With only about 300 residents, Talbot is located between two major regional cities, Ballarat, the UNESCO Creative City of Craft and Folk Art and Bendigo, the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. So, why not create a place in the middle that celebrates both craft, folk art and gastronomy?
The Folk Experiment is a space for ideas to form, to be tested, to showcase, to connect, to talk, to laugh and to learn from each other. We welcome everyone and will endeavour to make it a safe place to enjoy. We hope to surprise you and invite you to visit us.
