a petite Curated project space to test out ideas , connect and share stories. a place for creativity, curiosity and kindness.

The Folk Experiment is nestled within the historic London House building in the tiny goldrush town of Talbot, on the unceded lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging.

Together, with our wine bar and store, Fossickers Fine Food & Eatery, you will find a welcoming destination to relax, slow down and connect. We support the handmade, small-batch and sustainable artisans, producers, artists, designers and makers from this special region.

MEMORY MARKS

DIANA ORINDA BURNS & ROBYN GIBSON

3-26 OCTOBER 2025

An exhibition of prints by Diana Orinda Burns and Robyn Gibson

This exhibition invites audiences to reflect on their own experiences of nature through the eyes of two printmakers who live and work on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. With curiosity and a deep emotional connection to the land, Diana Orinda Burns and Robyn Gibson capture the essence of place and the memories it evokes.

Burns explores the colour yellow—a hue that signals the passing seasons and dominates the local landscape. Her layered collagraphs are meditations on light, time and atmosphere.

Gibson uses mono printing techniques to translate the shapes, sounds and textures she encounters while walking through the Castlemaine Forest. Through repetition, she creates rhythmic and intuitive compositions that trace her journey and connection to place.
